Everyday Ironman Podcast

237 - Luis Feitoza

Mike Bosch Episode 237

In this episode of The Everyday Ironman Podcast, we welcome Luis Feitoza, a Brazilian native from Rio and professor of veterinary medicine at Kansas State University. Growing up around the water gave Luis a natural connection to swimming, but it wasn’t until recently—after taking up biking and then running less than a year ago—that he found his way into triathlon.

Luis shares his journey to Ironman 70.3 Sandusky, including the detailed race plan his coach prepared and how he executed it on race day. Along the way, he clears up some Hollywood myths about life in Rio as depicted in Fast Five, and we dive into how adding to his family will shape his future training. Mike also reflects with a “learn from my mistakes” story that every Age Group Athlete can relate to.
